VeriFactu Postponed to 2027

The implementation of VeriFactu has been postponed to 2027. What does this mean for businesses and self-employed professionals?

 Officially confirmed: New VeriFactu deadlines

The implementation of VeriFactu was originally scheduled for 2025 and has already been postponed once since then. Now, a year later with a looming deadline, this launch is officially postponed again. The decision was made by the Council of Ministers and presented during the official press conference at the Palacio de la Moncloa by government spokesperson Pilar Alegría

It has been established with the new royal decree that:

  • Companies that are required to pay corporate tax must switch to VeriFactu starting January 1, 2027.
  • Other companies and self-employed individuals will be required to comply starting July 1, 2027.

Although the final publication in the BOE (Official State Bulletin) is still pending, the government decision is confirmed, and the new postponement has been formalized. Entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals can therefore definitively expect 2027 as the new implementation year.

What does this mean for your business

The postponement of VeriFactu to 2027 has been announced and confirmed by reliable sources to Sin Rodeos
For many companies, this mainly means peace of mind. There is no longer any reason to rush or hastily implement changes to your invoicing system.

Our assessment at Sin Rodeos

We expect that electronic invoicing in Spain through VeriFactu and future invoicing obligations will not simply disappear. Even if dates and rollout phases are still uncertain, the direction is clear.... the digitization of invoices is becoming the norm.

At Sin Rodeos, we recommend considering a future-proof platform that not only allows you to be compliant with systems like VeriFactu or European standards such as PEPPOL, but also enables you to automate your entire business process.
